Ceylon Tuskers Junior Rugby building the squad to the Chiang Mai International 7s 2026 The Ceylon Tuskers Junior Rugby School is thrilled to announce our upcoming international tour! This September, our Under-12 (U12) squad will be flying the Tuskers flag high as they travel to Thailand to compete in the prestigious Chiang Mai International 7s Tournament 2026. This is a massive milestone for our young athletes, marking an incredible opportunity to showcase Sri Lankan junior rugby talent on an international stage. About the Chiang Mai International 7s The Chiang Mai International 7s is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting fixtures on the Asian social and youth rugby calendar. Hosted at the world-class Yaowarate Sports Club and Resort, the tournament features top-tier facilities with pristine full-size pitches. Following its massive success in previous years, the tournament brings together dozens of teams from across the globeβincluding powerhouse clubs from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. Beyond the boundary lines, the tournament carries a deep purpose: it is organized in partnership with local foundations (like the Kids Ark and Baan Dek Foundations) to raise funds for local youth rugby development. Our junior Tuskers won't just be playing a game; they will be part of a global rugby community built on charity, sportsmanship, and mutual respect. How This Tour Helps Our Kids Taking our U12 team to an international tournament is about so much more than just the silverware. At this crucial developmental age, an overseas rugby tour offers life-changing benefits: Elite Athletic Exposure: Playing against international teams exposes our kids to different playing styles, strategies, and speeds. This significantly sharpens their decision-making skills, physical adaptability, and rugby IQ. * **Building Independence and Character:** For many of our young Tuskers, this will be their first major trip away from home. Travelling as a team teaches them accountability, self-reliance, time management, and the true meaning of discipline. Unrivaled Team Bonding: Living, eating, and playing together in a foreign country builds bonds that a standard practice session simply cannot match. The camaraderie formed on this tour will forge friendships that last a lifetime. Cultural Enrichment: Chiang Mai is a city steeped in over 700 years of rich cultural history. Between matches, our boys will experience Thai hospitality, try new foods, and learn to appreciate a completely different culture, broadening their global perspective. --- ### Join Us in Supporting the Tour! We are incredibly proud of our U12 boys for earning the chance to represent the Ceylon Tuskers in Thailand. Preparing for an international tour takes immense dedication from our coaching staff, parents, and most importantly, our players. > **Stay Tuned!** We will be sharing regular updates, training insights, and sponsorship opportunities right here on our webpage. Let's come together as the Tuskers family to give our junior stars the ultimate send-off! **Go Tuskers!**
